Hi Lorna
Thanks for posting your slides on SlideShare -that's really useful. I used 'FixMyStreet' yesterday to report the street lights are out behind my house ... I feel quite empowered! Colleagues in the office (who, unlike me, have smart phones!) were interested in 'BAApp' - could be an excuse for another practice outing to Birmingham. Now we're just waiting for the opportunity to use 'StickyWorld' as a consultation tool.
Thanks again

Hello Mike,
It's difficult to measure the benefits, but we have picked up on events, changes affecting practice and even potential leads via twitter, that we may not have been alerted to without it (or at least not as timely). Through 'tweeting' fairly regularly, but selectively, our ranking in the AJ/tCn top 100 architects on twitter has risen from the 200s a couple of months ago to currently no.63, which I guess must mean some people are interested in what we are saying. In summary, I would say at the moment the benefits to us are still the information and links we glean from the other people we 'follow', but that's good enough for me.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Jenny. I've learned exactly the same thing: going solo definitely doesn't mean going it alone! I went through a phase of locking myself away in a little office and it was completely counter-productive. I'm at my happiest and most productive when I'm with others.

Hope you've had a good year - merry christmas and best wishes for 2012!

Happy Christmas Lorna, sorry it's been a mixed bag. Wishes of continued success in the new year for you!

Ive found it mostly positive but have learned I have to be very careful to make sure I'm surrounded by people most of the time, I seem to second guess my abilities all the time otherwise...

Interesting question Mark.... but make a difference to what? Website hits? Work being won? Perception of the practice brand? All of those things?

I will try and address this in my workshop on Friday but we could always have a chat between speakers / sessions anyway.

Looking forward to meeting you at last! :)

I’m booked in for your workshop and looking forward to hearing how we can get the best out of web-based tools. @agarchitects, currently no.79 in the AJ/tCn top 100 architects on twitter, but does it make a difference?
