How Can I Help You?
I can help you GET STUFF DONE.
Let’s say you’ve sat down as a small business and discussed some of the ways to improve how you run your business. Perhaps you’ve employed a marketing agent and they’ve written a strategy for you. What next? As an SME, how do you start implementing some of those changes? Who will actually deliver it?
That’s where I come in. I can help you deliver all those plans you’ve had in the pipeline for months (if not years). I’ve worked with BPN Architects, Slider Studio and ETC Architects as well as providing similar services to others in the wider construction industry and beyond.
I charge a flat per-day fee for my time and I probably cost less than you think. If you want to have a chat, just drop me a line so we can arrange to meet face to face.
Here are some of the other ways I’ve been helping others in my freelance capacity:
- Practice Management Consultancy – with 12 years experience of working in a supporting role in the Built Environment, I can help you find ways to run your office more efficiently and profitably. I visit practices and work with them to find new and better ways to manage their business.
- Marketing and PR - using my network of contacts in the building press, and my experience of working in the built environment for over 12 years, I’m helping architects to shout about themselves more effectively. Got a building that’s almost finished that you want to tell people about? I can help you do that.
- Training – I can help you to use social media to work more efficiently or as a marketing tool to raise your profile. This can be done through one-to-one surgery sessions or group training. I recently helped FBE find their feet with LinkedIn – their LinkedIn group membership doubled within 6 months.
- Research & Development – I’ve been working on a feasibility study with Slider Studio to investigate the use of web-based platforms to support Neighbourhood Planning as part of the localism bill.
- Events - organising promotional or networking events, including event support through the use of social media. I’ve co-organised not one, but two very successful Be2Camp events in Birmingham and a Be2Social event in September 2011. Live blogging is particularly enjoyable – take a look at what I did for the 2010 CABE Urban Design Summer School. As part of the work with Slider Studio I organised 3 workshops (2 in Birmingham and 1 in London) to further investigate the relationship between the web and neighbourhood planning. During my time at BPN Architects I co-ordinated the private view and exhibition of art by Dean Melbourne.
- Online Communications - If you are looking to provide online support for a community-based project, I can help you by creating and maintaining low-cost web-based platforms. For example, Learning Spaces is an online scrapbook documenting the work of artists on the Birmingham BSF programme. I also created Changing Churchfields whilst working with MADE in early 2011 to support a community consultation exercise in Kidderminster.
